There have been some significant changes in the regulations this year.
The most significant being the requirement to "Tag" your Abalone as
soon as you take them from the water. Follow the link to the Department of
Fish & Game. Be sure you don't end up getting a ticket and having
your Abs and all your gear confiscated.

Northern California Hunting Season is still a ways off yet, but that doesn't mean you can't get out and do a little scouting or maybe take the time to get all of your Hunting Gear ready for opening day. It would also be a good time to work on getting in shape for all of that hiking around you'll be doing in a few months.
 If you have kids at the age where they'll be out there with you this year, you better think about getting them through a Hunter Safety Training course so when the time comes to purchase their first Hunting License they'll be ready to go.

 Now that the Snowboarding season is over, it's time to give your Snowboarding Gear a thorough inspection before you put it away, so that when you go to pull it out next season you're not going to be surprised to find out you should have replaced it.
