Climate
Coastal zone = wet, cool winters and dry, mild foggy summers.
Winter highs range from the low 40's to high 50's, with lows in the 30's and 40's, with snowfall and hard freezes being a quite possible but rare, occurrance.
Coastal summers are cool to mild, with highs mostly in the 60's with an occasional "heat wave" that can get as high as 100, and frequent fog, and lows from the upper 40's to mid 50's
Inland = you'll find abundant sunshine and warmth, a welcome change from the coastal fog.
Winter rainstorms are frequent, with average seasonal rainfall totals from 30 inches to 100 inches per year.
Inland areas of the county also experience wet, cool winters. Snowfall is common at elevations over 3,000 ft (910 m) throughout the winter months.
Summer highs of 100+ degrees are common in eastern parts of the county.
